Gifs
Gifs grab subscribers’ attention. Use them to demonstrate something or just for fun.

Instead of a static video thumbnail, a video preview can be made into a gif, and the link goes to the full video:

Design considerations
Gifs can become large files. For email, they should be compressed as much as possible – around 1MB is ideal. Larger files may take too long to load (especially on mobile) and be missed.
Outlook treats gifs just like other images, so if a user has images turned off they will have to “click to download images”. Because of this its best to not include text that is crucial to the email’s message in the gif.
Outlook desktop will not play the gif and instead display the first frame.
